What did he know, and why would he lie about it?
Norman Podhoretz has written the most complete and comprehensive article I have seen on the "Bush lied about WMD" hysteria. (HT: Powerline) It is long, but if you get all the way through it you will be hard pressed to come to any conclusion other than the obvious. Not only did Bush not "lie" in the the State of the Union address, but the British appear to have been correct and Hack Joseph Wilson's boondoggle further supported that conclusion.Further, there is no evidence that any intelligence community disagreed with our own CIA director's opinion that the case against Saddam on WMD was a "slam dunk". More than that, the "rhetoric" from the Bush administration was almost exactly the same as that from the Clinton White House.
